Chiclana has three excellent beaches, each of which has unique features. The most popular is La Barrosa Beach, which is considered one of the best in southern Spain and which continues to receive Blue Flag recognition year after year.
Further south you will find El Puerco Beach, which is popuarly known as Novo Sancti Petri Beach. Its original state has been preserved, with dunes on some stretches and cliffs at others, in addition to the traditional, golden sands found along almost the entire Cadiz coast.
The beach of Sancti Petri, on the other hand, is completely unspoilt, and is located in an idyllic spot where you can enjoy spectacular sunsets.
Our municipal area covers 203 square kilometres, of which a third is occupied by Bahía de Cádiz Natural Park. This park is comprised of marshlands, rivers, canyons, dunes, and islands; the perfect combination between land and sea.

Chiclana de la Frontera pertains to the grouping of municipalities that forms the Bahía de Cádiz, next to the city of Cadiz itself, which is only 24 kilometres away. Chiclana was founded in 1303 when King Ferdinand IV of Castile gave these lands to the House of Medina-Sidonia. The town centre you can see today was built during the 18th century.
